Date: September 12th 2011

As some of you know, we decided to take the summer off. Normally there would be a meeting this Saturday, but I have to speak at Mobile UX Camp in DC. Then on Sunday, my family and I are doing a day trip to Maker Faire in Queens, NY. There will be an OLPC booth there.

So we will have our next meeting at the Arlington Career Center (ACC) on Saturday, October 15, 2011, 10am-1pm. I'll be fresh from several days at the MIT Media Lab earlier that week, so I'm sure I'll have some fresh news. Topics that can be covered at that meeting:

  • Features in the latest version of the Sugar Learning Platform
  • A look at the new OLPC XO-1.75 B1 laptop, which I got a few days ago
  • News on OLPC country deployments
  • Published information on the XO-3 multi-touch tablet due for later in 2012
  • Implications of the new MIT Media Lab Center for Mobile Learning

I will update the blog as I can, but Jeff Elkner has definitely confirmed the date for October. Please let us know if you have any special support needs for the meeting. I will send one more email blast two weeks before the meeting.
